Swiss QR-bill for rent
If you privately let a flat, a studio or a parking space, you can give your tenants a QR-bill. They scan the code with their banking app and pay without typing errors.

What goes on a rent bill
- Your name, address and IBAN as the payee.
- The tenant’s name and address.
- The monthly amount, i.e. rent including the advance payment for service charges.
- A message such as “Rent flat 2nd floor, November 2026”.
Free, no sign-up. Your data stays in your browser.
Scan once, pay every month
Some banking apps can set up a standing order straight from a scanned QR-bill. Ask your tenants whether their bank offers this. Otherwise, issue one bill per month, with the month in the message.
Service charge statement
For the yearly service charge statement, create a full invoice with items such as heating, water and caretaking. If there is a balance to pay, tenants settle it easily by QR code.
Letting residential property is generally exempt from Swiss VAT. So leave the VAT option switched off, unless your accountant says otherwise.
How it works
- Open the generator. “QR slip only” is already selected; for a statement, switch to “Full invoice”.
- Enter your details and IBAN.
- Enter the tenant as the payer and save them as a customer.
- Enter the amount and a message with the month.
- Download the PDF and hand it over.

Common questions
Do I need a QR-IBAN as a private landlord?
No, the normal IBAN of your account is enough.
Do I have to type in the tenant every time?
No. With “Save customer” they stay saved in your browser, and the next bill is ready in seconds.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Scanbill creates everything in your browser. Invoice data is not sent to a server.
