Privacy & cookies
Scanbill is built to collect as little as possible.
No cookies, no tracking of you
Scanbill sets no cookies and uses no advertising or tracking tools. To see how many people use the site, we count visits anonymously with GoatCounter (servers in Germany and Finland). It records the page, the referring website, browser type, screen size, country and clicks on “Download PDF”, but stores no IP address and no identifier, so no profile of you is built. Fonts and program code are served from scanbill.ch itself.
Invoices stay on your device
Invoices, QR codes and PDFs are created in your browser. Invoice data, customer details and IBANs are never sent to our server.
What your browser stores
If you click “Remember my details” or “Save customer”, those details are kept in your browser’s local storage, together with your language choice and the next invoice number. Nothing of this is sent to us. You can delete it at any time. The list of invoices you downloaded (number, customer, amount, reference, payment status) is kept there too.
Server logs
Like any website, the web server may record technical access data (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) to keep the service secure. These logs are not used for profiling.
Who is responsible, and your rights
The operator named in the legal notice is responsible for this website. You can ask what personal data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted by writing to juscarter@icloud.com.
Backup
Save everything Scanbill keeps in this browser (your details, customers, invoice list) as a file, and load it on another computer or phone. Loading a backup replaces the data in this browser. Your invoices

Disclaimer
Please read this before you send invoices created with Scanbill.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the content of every invoice you create: names, addresses, IBAN, amounts, VAT rates and VAT number. Check each invoice before you send it.
No tax or legal advice
Scanbill calculates VAT with the rates you choose but does not check whether they apply to you. It is not tax, accounting or legal advice. Ask your fiduciary or the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (ESTV) if you are unsure.
QR-bill standard
Scanbill follows the SIX Implementation Guidelines for the QR-bill as published. Banks and standards can change. Test a QR-bill with your own banking app before you use it with customers.
No warranty
Scanbill is provided as is, without any warranty. To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for losses caused by errors in invoices, rejected or misdirected payments, or the site being unavailable.
Your data
Invoices are created in your browser and are not sent to us. Details you save are stored only in this browser and are lost if you clear its data. Keep your own copy of every PDF.

QR-bill is a standard of SIX Interbank Clearing Ltd. Scanbill is not affiliated with or endorsed by SIX, PostFinance or any bank.
