Tick off paid invoices automatically

Scanbill remembers every invoice you download. With the credit file from your e-banking it sees which ones are paid, by their QR or RF reference, without any typing. The file stays on your device.

Which file you need

  • camt.054: credit notifications with the details of each incoming payment. The best choice.
  • camt.053: the account statement as XML. Also works if the bank includes the reference.
  • XML format (ISO 20022), often packed as a ZIP file. Scanbill reads both. A CSV or PDF file won’t do.

Where to find the file at your bank

  • Raiffeisen: Payments › Data transfer › Download account data, then choose the account and the XML (ISO) format.
  • Migros Bank: open the account under Assets, tap the three dots next to the statement, choose to export it and set the format to CAMT.054 or CAMT.053.
  • PostFinance: in e-finance, the account files provided are ready to download under the collect section.
  • UBS: your client adviser switches your credit notifications to camt.054.
  • Zürcher Kantonalbank: camt.054 and camt.053 are activated for eBanking on request. Ask your bank.
  • Other banks: look in your e-banking for “data transfer”, “export”, “collect files” or “camt”. If you find nothing, ask for credit notifications in camt.054 format.

What Scanbill does with the file

Scanbill reads only the incoming payments. Payments carrying the reference of one of your invoices are matched, and part payments are added up. Without a reference, a payment only counts if the amount is exact and the invoice number is in the message. Loading the same file twice counts nothing twice.

The file is not uploaded. It holds account details, so it stays on your device.

How it works

  1. Download the camt.054 or camt.053 file for the period you want from your e-banking.
  2. Open Scanbill and go to “Your invoices”.
  3. Click “Load bank file” and choose the file.
  4. Check the list: paid invoices are ticked off, part payments show the amount paid.

Common questions

Does the camt.054 file cost anything?

That depends on your bank. Ask them, especially if the file has to be switched on first.

Does it work without a reference?

Only partly: a payment without a reference is matched if the amount is exact and the invoice number is in the message. Otherwise mark the invoice as paid by hand.

Where are my invoices stored?

Only in your browser on this device. Use “Download backup” to take them to another computer.
